“You don't alter a Vera Wang, you alter yourself to fit Vera. - Bride WarsIf you had asked me when I was 28 and in my wedding dress if I ever thought I would end up in my forties flipping my husband the bird over potato chips, I'd say you were crazy. Jenna McCarthy When I was a little girl I always imagined the day I went looking for my wedding dress. Me and this imaginary mother I had in my head would be tracing around all of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills (dahling, lol), combing through racks and racks of tulle, lace, diamonds and taffeta until we finally found THE ONE. I would come walking out of the fitting rooms stepping onto the pedestal in front of the mirror and silence would fall over the entire boutique as they gawked in awe of the worlds most beautiful dress. My mom would start to cry and we would just instantly know that we had found THE DRESS! THE DRESS I would start my Happily Ever After in. THE DRESS I would take my last steps as a single woman in. THE DRESS that one day I would pass down to my daughter, and she would pass down to her daughter and so on and so on. |
Once Upon a TimeGrowing up with a single dad, and a house with only boys, let just say fashion wasn't something I was at all familiar with. Add being plus size to that and its "you are wearing what your brother wears just in bigger boy sizes." There was no Torrid, Lane Bryant, Forever21 plus- At least my Dad had not discovered it yet.I think thankfully by age 13 there was a Fashionbug?? EEKK! Having literally worn boy clothes for most of my life I learned at a very young age that fashion, style and beauty have to start inside and radiate through you. Archives
